Are you a passionate System Engineer with a strong background in fluid dynamics, eager to push the boundaries of innovation? As a System Engineer you will play a key role in eLstar’s new product development. You will define critical design requirements of the overall system architecture, based on data derived from experiments you perform. You have strong knowledge of fluid dynamics and/or electrophoresis, can quickly identify roadblocks and act, and are able of quickly grasping the essence of complex issues and translating them into concrete, practical input for decision-making. You clearly communicate technical aspects internally and externally in a concise and effective manner, and you safeguard the technical scope of the project.

Your Role

  • System design: Deliver design requirements for crucial components of the revolutionary eLstar Dynamics smart glass applications, based on solid (experimental) data, while ensuring alignment and support across the organization.
  • Knowledge: Apply in-depth technological knowledge of fluid dynamics and/or electrophoresis.
  • Executing experiments: Perform experiments to support and validate design requirements.
  • Product mindset: Maintain a strong focus on the product and its requirements, with a clear understanding of what it takes to develop and manufacture a successful product.
  • Structured Way of Working: Apply proven, structured methodologies for design of experiments, (concept) design, and validation.
  • Trade-off Aware: Demonstrate clear awareness of budget constraints, timelines, functionality, and manufacturability, and effectively balance conflicting requirements.

What You Bring

  • At least 5 years as a System Engineer in a high-tech company working on complex systems with a solid understanding of system engineering principles. A strong experimental mindset and structured way of working.
  • A Master’s degree or PhD in Physics.
  • Deep understanding of fundamental physics processes, especially fluid and/or particle dynamics and interactions.
  • Strong experience in physics modelling.
  • Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
