Are you a passionate hands-on Electronics lead Engineer, eager to push the boundaries of innovation?
As an Electronics Lead Engineer, you are the technical engine behind our electronics strategy and development. You combine in-depth hardware knowledge, embedded software experience, team leadership, and a practical, hands-on approach. You define the strategy of our main electronics systems (including PCBs, electrode array, interconnects, silicon, and firmware) develop these from the first concept, through schematic & layout, up to and including product release. You will work closely with all technical departments and the CTO, taking a leading role in design and integration choices.
- Technical roadmap creation: creation of the medium to long term electronics architecture roadmap and contribution to other technical group roadmaps.
- Technical team leadership: Managing and coaching the electronics team on daily basis and making sure the right technical choices are being made
- End-to-end PCB-development, hardware as well as software: From concept and schematic design to layout, deliver, testing and release.
- Embedded software development: Write, test and debug firmware for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
- Hands-on lab work: Assemble prototypes, perform measurements, do fault analysis and implement solutions.
- Product industrialization: Designing for Manufacturability and Testing, production transfer, testing strategies, and release.
- Documentation & Compliance: Prepare BOMs, schematics, test plans, EMC preparation and technical files.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5 years of experience in mixed-signal and DCDC power supply design in a high-tech company
- History of delivering multiple circuit boards to mass production
- Experience of semiconductor integration, cost dow
- You have experience and a solid understanding in the following fields:
- Analogue, digital, and mixed-signal design, proven experience translating requirements into robust schematics and layouts; from idea till product.
- Writing and maintaining firmware for Microchip ATSAM microcontrollers in MPLAP.
- Building C# applications that interfaced with hardware, bridging low-level embedded systems with PC-side software to deliver reliable, fully integrated device functionality.
- Ensuring the entire system - from PCB to firmware to PC software - works as a coherent product.
- Preferred
- Experience with impedance analyser measurements and circuit modelling
- Experience with KiCad
- Knowledge of EMC, signal integrity, or high-speed design
- Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
- Technical leader: you guide engineering decisions, mentor colleagues, and set the technical direction.
- Hands-on mentality: you like to be in the lab and solve problems practically.
- End-to-end PCB owner: you take ownership of board development, from concept to schematic, layout, bring-up, testing, and product release.
- Problem solver: you diagnose issues quickly, run structured experiments, and implement practical fixes.
- Quality-driven engineer: you care about EMC, signal integrity, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.
- Cross-disciplinary collaborator: you work naturally with physicist, and chemical engineers, as well as with suppliers.
- Documentation-minded engineer: you maintain clear schematics, BOMs, test reports, and release documentation.
